I’m an Arizona-based freelance writer with international writing chops – as an award-winning newspaper reporter, editor, magazine writer and financial journalist in the United States and Czech Republic. My work has appeared in a variety of outlets, including The Dallas Morning News, AARP The Magazine, and international news service Agence France-Presse.

I began my media career as an editorial writer at the Arizona Daily Star, in Tucson. Eventually, I moved from political commentary to feature writing – covering topics ranging from frothy celebrity interviews, to dynamic fashion-and-pop-culture trends, to serious investigations of public-safety issues.

In between full-time journalism gigs, I’ve also worked as a media-relations officer specializing in bioterrorism emergency management, and a 911 call taker in the adrenaline-drenched dispatch center of a large police department in the Southwestern United States.

I’ve also worked abroad, as a Prague-based staff writer for Czech Business Weekly, an English-language financial magazine covering trade, corporate and lifestyle news in Central Europe. My beats included tourism, corporate-executive profiles, European Union immigration issues, and – most entertaining of all – the racy Czech adult-entertainment industry.

While I specialize in feature writing, I bring a broad range of interests and experience to every project. My copy is crisp, clean and well-sourced, and I have a more-than-healthy respect for deadlines. I still adhere to Associated Press style, hyphenate probably more than I should – and remain as crazy-in-love with journalism as when we first met.
